About The Author

Garet Davidson was born and raised in middle Tennessee. He has attended UT Knoxville, WKU, Boyce College, and received his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Bethel University. He joined the Metro Nashville Police Department in 2011 and took an early retirement in the beginning of 2024. During his time with the MNPD, he served on patrol as a field training officer, a sergeant, and a lieutenant. He was appointed to the role of Office of Professional Accountability (IA) Lieutenant in 2021.

He left the MNPD in order to pursue his first passion—stories. This interest may have been kindled after he was introduced to Stephen King at the age of four (4). While running through the house, he sprinted into the living room whereupon he looked over the couch to see multiple people transforming into werewolves in a dark church. That scene from Silver Bullet, the film adaptation of Stephen King's Cycle of the Werewolf, is still living rent free in his head to this day.

In addition to Stephen King, other authors who influenced him early in life include Terry Brooks, J.R.R Tolkien, H.P. Lovecraft, and Edgar Allan Poe—but many others, like Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, have left their mark over the years. His first name actually comes from the character Garet Jax of Terry Brooks' The Wishsong of Shannara.

Garet is an eclectic individual who enjoys many things, including strength training, video games, reading, writing, and a good scotch and cigar or pipe. He is the author of The Gray Paladin, and he has many other books in the works.

He is very thankful for his amazing wife and four wonderful children, and he aspires to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
