It is 1393 in East Sussex, England. John, Bodiam Castle's master cook, sits on a platform being pulled across the moat in an attempt to rescue the black cat spotted in the nearby village.
Cats were believed to be witch familiars and agents of the devil. A bounty has resulted in their extermination. Then came the rats, the famine, and the plague-curse of the ravenous dead.
They are wrong about the cats. They need them.
John is out of his depth. He knows food, not fighting. He is tired. He is afraid. Most of all, he is hungry.
Ravenous is a historical fiction and horror novella set in 14th-century Bodiam, England. It is a medieval zombie tale. Story situations will make readers frequently uncomfortable and unsettled. There is violence and gruesome imagery.
The Chronicles of the Faithful is the second book in the Paladin Series by author Garet Davidson, and it is well under-way. The Paladins routinely recorded the deeds of individual paladins, and these chronicled stories serve as a living history of the Paladin Order.
This is a special compilation of short stories involving such paladins as Vesuvimorian, Pythaganor, Haptistrian, Athanasor, and Meliador. The reader will learn more of these paladins, as well as the world and its important historical events.
This will further prepare readers for what comes after The Gray Paladin.
